Mechanism of Action

Core ACTH(4-7) Activity

Same as standard Semax: MC4R activation, BDNF upregulation, dopamine/serotonin modulation, neuroprotection.

C-Terminal Amidation Effect

The -COOH to -NH2 substitution at the C-terminus eliminates carboxypeptidase B cleavage, the primary degradation pathway at the C-terminal end. This extends the peptide's tissue residence time compared to standard Semax.

Semax Amidate is approximately 2–3x more stable than standard Semax in mucosal tissue; Adamax (N-Acetyl Semax Amidate) adds N-terminal protection for maximum stability.
