Histrelin is a potent synthetic GnRH superagonist delivered via a once-yearly subcutaneous implant (Supprelin LA for CPP; Vantas for prostate cancer). The implant releases histrelin at approximately 65 mcg/day continuously for 12 months, providing sustained GnRH receptor desensitization and castrate-level sex steroid suppression without daily injections or nasal sprays.
